PM Modi’s boast on GST collection

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the nation, said that the people will get Rs 2.5 lakh crore through income tax exemption and GST tax reduction. This means that he is admitting that the Union government has been collecting this amount from the people in excess so far.
Whenever GST rates are increased, the Centre has been saying that it has nothing to do with the Centre and that the GST Council, which also includes state ministers, decides the tax rate. But now Prime Minister Modi is bragging about the implementation of the tax rate change as if it were his personal achievement.
Speaking on Independence Day, he said that GST tax reforms are coming and that this will be a Diwali gift to the people. He said that the GST savings festival will start on the day of the Navaratri festival. Prime Minister Modi has said that the mantra of our government is that citizens are like gods. Will he also openly admit that he has been robbing those ‘gods’ for the last 8 years in the name of GST?
Prime Minister, who is responsible for disturbing the sleep of the people for 8 years due to the atrocities of GST tax and making it a Shivaratri? Will you apologize to the people for that? Where did the money collected in the name of GST go? Will the entire amount be returned to the people in cash? Will it be directly credited to their bank accounts as a direct benefit transfer? Will it be deducted from the Rs. 15 lakh promised by Modi earlier? Will you increase corporate taxes and compensate the state governments? Will you ensure that the welfare schemes being implemented by the state governments are not financially affected?” all the opposition leaders are asking and digging into the issue.
So, as if the people did not realize that it was the BJP that implemented this excessive GST tax that caused fear and misery to the people in 2017, the BJP government has started pretending that it has reduced prices for the people. The truth is that the BJP government is the one who has reduced the GST tax.
There is no denying that the collection of Rs. 55 lakh crore in the last eight years has now been reduced by Rs. 2.5 lakh crore. A campaign is being carried out to hide the huge difference between the mountain and the sink in this. However, the prices of various goods have come down due to the implementation of the GST tax rate change, which is good news for the people for now.
But the people have not gained anything new. What they have lost so far has been reduced a little. This may be an achievement for the union rulers. No one has had to tell the people that there is also electoral politics behind this.
Will people be captivated by Prime Minister Modi’s game of trying to turn suffering into a success? For the people, what will be remembered is what was taken away!
