The Tata Punch has taken Madurai by storm this festive season, emerging as the city’s most popular SUV and helping Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) secure the No. 2 spot in India’s passenger vehicle market for September 2025. The compact SUV also ranked among the country’s top five best-selling cars, reflecting its wide appeal among Indian buyers.
Available in petrol, CNG, and electric variants, the Punch combines stylish design, advanced technology, and class-leading safety. Nearly 69% of its buyers are first-time car owners, highlighting its growing acceptance among new customers. Between April and September 2025, the Punch contributed 34% of TMPV’s sales in Tamil Nadu, while in Madurai, sales have doubled, making it a clear favourite among city motorists.
Known for its 5-star safety ratings across both ICE and EV versions, the Punch offers exceptional value, further supported by recent GST reforms. During Navratri 2025, it contributed 33% of TMPV’s national sales — a testament to its festive season dominance.
The Punch is India’s first SUV to offer petrol, EV, and twin-cylinder iCNG powertrains, balancing performance and affordability. Its compact size and easy handling have also made it a hit among women buyers, who now account for about 25% of Punch.ev owners.
Since its launch in 2021, the Punch has led the sub-compact SUV segment, becoming India’s highest-selling car in 2024. With over six lakh proud owners and strong traction in Tier 2 markets, the Tata Punch continues to redefine trust, safety, and style — cementing its place as the SUV everyone wants this festive season.
